  • Short Summary

Duke of York attends Highland Games - also inspects Scottish troops.

  • Description

Scotland - exact location and date of this film unknown.

This item appears to be two films cut together. We first see Duke of York (later King George VI) attending some Highland Games. He is in traditional Scottish dress.

Various shots of him handing flags to soldiers and saluting. Artillery is fired in a salute.

Queen Mary and the Duke of Connaught are seen being driven through unidentified Scottish town and visiting a University. (Clarification as to the location of this University would be gratefully received).

Duke of York is seen again inspecting troops. He presents medals and shakes hands with some of the soliders.

Various shots of the Highland Games. We see several shots of competitors shot putting and others tossing the caber. There is a large church or Cathedral in the background. High jump competitors are seen. The King is seen at the end of the film leaning on a walking stick.
