My late mother, then Louise Reid, secretary with the IPC in Kirkuk, attended the opening ceremony in 1952. In the evening, there was a party she attended along with King Faisal II and his entourage. I have the original invitations which were kept by my mother until she passed away at the end of 2018. These were special times she never forgot.
