Thanks for posting. This is a judo class / demonstration.
The large, older gentleman in the white gi is Japan's Ambassador to Paris, Mr. Yotaro SUGIMURA (last name Sugimura). He throws then bows to Mikinosuke Kawaishi.
Ambassador Sugimura was a very large gent, quite a sportsman in his youth, and an avid judoka and swimmer. He applied to swim the English Channel; denied permissio, he swam the Seine the length of Paris. At the time of the film he was one of the Japanese delegation to the International Olympic Committee.
Evacuated in 1938, probably months after this film, he died of stomach cancer in Tokyo in 1939.
