Reducing this clip's current date range, the speed record reported here took place on 26 January 1946.

"Pilot leaving the plane" - that's Colonel William Councill.

  2. jamied says

Seen climbing from another Shooting Star at 00:46 is Captain Martin Smith, who partnered Councill on the record-breaking flight, but who recorded a slower time due to refuelling stops.
