Roy Jay continues the Victorian craft of carving in jet.
L/S of the deserted beach at Whitby on a grey windy day. A young man walks along collecting stones. He is picking up jet, which he takes home and works on to make jewellery. Jet is a form of anthracite. We see Roy Jay working with a grinder, with a chisel, and a polisher. Roy's sister models a necklace, brooch and earrings. There are also some shots of various items of jewellery which Roy has made.
