Animation featuring that naughty dog Jerry - this week he chases a mouse.
Animation featuring Jerry the Troublesome Tyke - a cartoon dog. A U.I.C. production. A mouse with a rifle over his shoulder paces backwards and forwards on a window ledge. He looks out and across the landscape. He continues pacing then suddenly stops. He has seen Jerry who is marching along a road looking very purposeful. He is singing "Valencia" The mouse drops his rifle, jumps off the window ledge and disappears into a hole in the floorboards. Under the floor there are 10 other mice. One of them is playing the piano and the others are sitting on benches swaying to the music. One mouse does a little jig - dancing like a whirling dervish! The mouse seen earlier suddenly appears and yells: "Look out, mates! The Tyke's back again!!" The dancing mouse says: "I'll settle him!" Jerry warms his hands by the fire and wags his tail. He yawns and sits in front of the fire. He scratches his head and lies down for a snooze. The mouse appears from underneath an armchair. We see a split shot - under the floorboards and above the floorboards. The mouse sticks his tail up through the floorboards and spikes Jerry. Jerry howls and looks puzzled. He chases the mouse through the house. The mouse runs outside and has a good laugh at Jerry's expense. He sees a pot of paste. "This ought to fix him!" says the mouse. He puts a big blob of paste outside the back door. Jerry spots him doing this through the keyhole of a locked door. Jerry slips underneath the door and orders a pair of slippers to move towards him (which they do). He walks out of the door and into the paste. The slippers stick in the paste and the mouse laughs. The mouse puts up his dukes and Jerry jumps out of the slippers and starts scrapping with the mouse. Jerry kicks the mouse into the garden and laughs. He starts to walk back inside but forgets about the glue and steps in it. He observes: "I s'pose you are all going to say - "Stick it, Jerry!"
Was item in Pathe Pictorial issue number 420.
Note: "Stick it" seems to be Jerry's catch phrase. There is an extra sequence featuring the mice which seems to have been removed at some stage - will be transferred to digibeta after the main sequence - see 840.04. It presumably should have been just before the mouse sticks his tail through the floorboards.
