    GV Exterior of detached public house called 'Jack of Lanters' which is to host a Jellied Eel Eating Competition. GV People gathering outside the pub. CU Bowl of jellied eels and portions being put into little basins. VS The jellied eel competition gets under way. People (both men and women) stuffing their faces with eels and as night comes people drop out of the competition. Some shots are speeded up for comic effect VS The winner Sam Page being congratulated and acclaimed. MS Sam Page buying jellied eels from stall on way home.

    "public house called 'Jack of Lanters" - actually it's called the Jack O' Lantern". It's on Daiglen Drive in South Ockendon.

    Judging by the scoreboard seen at 03:40, this is a contest between 10 different pubs. Seen at 03"53 are the representatives for "The George" and the "Nelson Hotel".
