    The footage between 05:45 and 05:50 is shot on 25 June 1944 by a cameraman named "Laurence". The location for that material is given as "Cherbourg Peninsula".

    The ceremony between 05:53 and 07:14, and following from 07:30 up to the end takes place in Cherbourg on June 27th (the Germans surrendered the 26th around 4:00pm)

    The building is the City Hall (Hotel de Ville) as shown here

    At 07:30 can also be seen a "kiosque à musique", visible here too :
