    Various shots of large hotel that has been scene of heavy fighting, American soldiers walk in and out of the building. Various shots inside hotel, showing the once luxurious interiors that are now in ruins. More shots exterior of hotel. M/S road sign to Koln (Cologne) and Trier (Treves). More shots wrecked buildings. Various shots captured German soldiers, the officers are driven away on a jeep. Various shots GIs on street, surrounding buildings are in ruins. Two smartly dressed civilian men talk to some of the GIs. M/S civilian man making repairs to his house. More shots prisoner of war. Various shots civilians watching the POWs pass.

    Note: paperwork gives date as 20/10/1944.

    All of this footage was shot on 21 October 1944. The cameraman is named as "Sykes".

    "Various shots of large hotel" - it's the Hotel Quellenhof, and is still in operation as of 2013.
