    Allied forces invasion of occupied Europe - looks like Ardennes, Holland / Belgium.

    Clapper board gives date as 20/12/1944. Various shots American soldiers standing beside and sitting inside armoured car; one soldiers talks into radio, other plots co-ordinates on map. Great C/U officer talking into field telephone. Various shots GIs loading and firing shells from tank guns, they fire into dense forest. M/S officers looking at map.

    M/S GIs looking out of barn door at snowy landscape. L/S gun emplacement / camp, soldiers are gathered around fire. Various shots soldiers firing Howitzer gun. Various shots GIs eating, cleaning guns etc. in snow covered camp.

    According to paperwork the tank unit is from the US 106 Cavalry. The Howitzer is being fired by the US 165 Artillery Unit.

    This footage was shot on 20 December 1944, by Sgt Cohen of the 163rd Signal Photo Company. The subject is the 106th Cavalry Regiment.
