"Possibly invasion scenes connected to the D-day landings." - yes, it seems that of this footage surround the build-up to D-Day and the aftermath.
The footage does not run in chronological order, and is shot by at least 3 different cameramen....
At 01:09 we see a slate for a cameraman called Legge - his footage was shot on 7 June 1944, the day after D-day.
At 02:17 we see a slate for cameraman Norman Clague, who shot his footage on 5 June 1944. Clague was tragically killed just 7 days later.
At 02:40 there's a slate for cameraman George Laws. His footage was shot on 2 June 1944.
