  • Short Summary

Interned Marines doing cooking and laundry at camp and marching through city street.

  • Description

Interned (German?) Marines in Holland / Netherlands.

World War One. MS several men doing kitchen food preparation work: grating cabbage - w/ pile of cabbages in FG! Men coming out of a building carrying steaming pots & pans. Walking toward camera; 2 men carrying a pot between them; while others crowd around; the guys are cracking up; sticking spoons into pot etc. Men pile up clothing; wash it in buckets. Laundry.

Military review in a large square; soldiers march past large building like palace. Looks like multinational parade. Some of the flags look Italian (?). Brief shot from another story - possibly line of volunteers - crowded line on pavement (in London?). Back to previous scene in square. CU group of men in shirtsleeves; vests; cloth caps sit around a blanket eating - like a picnic. This may finally have something to do w. the original story - could be the interned marines marching down city street.

These are British internees in Groningen, not \"German Marines\".
The sailors are RND (Royal Naval Division).
They\'re marching through the city of Groningen
