    Bill Shankly made his Scotland debut in this game, (as did my great uncle Davie Cumming in goal).
    This was also the first ever full game televised live, (broadcast by the BBC... who had done a fifteen minute practice with, bizarrely, an Arsenal Reserves game not long before).
