    Several shots of hundreds of men lined up at Balmoral Showgrounds before the start of a massive cross-country race. Contestants from Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Canada and Eire are taking part. The Duke of Abercorn and US General Hartle are seen in the spectator stand. The race starts and the men run off; there are 315 runners in all. Several shots of the men running around the course.

    Commentator explains that teams of civilians and servicemen are competing, with proceeds from the event going to the Red Cross and St John's Fund. Private Bingham is seen being the first to cross the finishing line and receives the trophy cup for the British Army team, now wearing military uniform.
