    World War One. Women war workers; from various organisations; military & industry; inspected in Bedford. The women are lined up in street; group of military and civic representatives walk along rows; old 3-4 story buildings in BG. Women's Army group inspected. Male Army officers talk with group of women who wear white ruffled bonnets and long skirts. Mayor gives medal to a man. Crowd filling up street; people moving about.

    Then a shot looking down street; with crowd along side of street; some on porch or under awning of a shop. Policemen walk by. A parade comes up street; with Army marching band. Then Women's Army. Group of men in long black capes. Next 2 women in neat little suits and white fur stoles walk along with 2 men in suits. A few more civilians. Women's Land Army; several carrying large banners; cart follows. More women from different branches of the military; in their various uniforms. Finally; some of the women walking toward camera- looks like they're coming out of doorway.
