    At the Milrose Games at Madison Square Gardens we see Cornelius Walmerdam reach a height of 15 feet and 3/8 of an inch on the pole vault - higher than anyone else had ever vaulted before. The crowd cheers. In the 1,000 yard flat race, Gene Vensky leads, with Earl Mitchel on his heels. Mitchel trips just before the finishing line and brings another runner down with him. The winner is Lew Colade.
