    A story about the work of the D.S.I.R. Hydraulics Research Station. Various shots as a model oil tanker is tested by wind and wave machines, we see the machine printing out the results.

    A man places candles and coloured dye in a pool to trace tides and currents. A current meter is used to test flows and we see a man travelling along a water channel in a carriage.
