    Animation by Joe Noble.

Intertitle describes the Greek legend of Icarus. Cartoon figure of Icarus flies above some real trees. We then see Icarus hanging from his pants off a branch. The sun laughs - he is on fire. Modern aircraft are described. M/S of the front of a biplane. C/U of the controls in the cockpit. Graphic cartoon of woman in a cockpit is used to show the various controls of the aircraft. The plane is seen in "x-ray." to show how the mechanics of the plane work. The joystick is shown. We then see real footage of a man operating aircraft controls - the side of the plane has been removed so that we can clearly see what is happening. M/S of tail tilting.

Animation of plane shows how air resistance affects aircraft. The actions of the wing flaps are described. Man stands in front of plane whilst wing flaps are moved. Aeroplane in flight. We see controls being operated to bank the aircraft. An "Immelman" is described - a kind of loop the loop. We then see a cameraman perched on the wing of the plane filming with a box camera (may be a photographer.) We see a man hanging from his hair off the bottom of an aircraft (this is the man seen in "A Real Hair-Raising Affair" and "American Indian Hanging by Hair from Aircraft." A Do.X Airliner is shown flying over a coastline. We see inside the aircraft - various businessmen and passengers look at the view. A small girl does the Charleston on the wing of a plane (looks like Mildred from "High Steps"). L/S of biplane in flight with Mildred dancing on top. M/S of a jazz band playing on the wings of a biplane (could be the band from "High Notes.")
