• Short Summary

Funeral procession of murdered socialist leader, Juan Jaures.

  • Description

    Paris, France.

Title: "HONOUR TO JAURES. Thousands throng streets to see passing of remains of murdered Socialist Leader to the Pantheon".

L/S of a large building - looks like a Greek or Roman temple - the Pantheon? The building is draped in an enormous white sheet, a crowd of people are gathered in the square in front. L/S of a man standing on the steps of the Pantheon giving a passionate speech to a crowd, to the left on the screen smoke rises from something resembling the Olympic flame.

L/S of crowd lined Paris streets, an enormous, bizarrely shaped float moves slowly passed. The float is draped in a vast Tricolour flag, it looks as if Juan Jaures' coffin is perched on top, smoke rises from large dishes perched on each corner of the flag (some kind of incense?).

Intertitle: "70 Miners in working clothes bore the elaborate 80ft. car."

M/S of a large gang of men carrying the coffin float using wooded poles protruding from the sides. Various shots of the men manoeuvring the coffin float.

"Juares" in the shots list should read Jaures (Juan Jaures).

4 changes to the name are needed, including 1 in the tags.
