This parade of 'P' Zone Home Guard took place on 10th August 1940 at Glebe House ,West Wickham, the home of the 'P' Zone Commander Colonel Chamberlain, which is now a large complex of sheltered housing for the elderly, the Field at the rear ,now a sports field is virtually unchanged, the title HOME GUARD was adopted officially on 22nd July at the suggestion of Winston Churchill but, as we see in this marvellous footage, the brassards bearing the letters LDV continued to be worn for some time
