Repatriated prisoners - British and colonial POWs (prisoners of war) return to England. Shot of large ship moving past. CU Indian man; wearing turban; with arm in sling; holding cane. Group of this man; 2 other Indian soldiers; and 2 other colonials - no smiles - not home yet for them. Sailors carry empty stretcher onto ship; past British soldiers crowded on deck. Then they return with man on stretcher. ECU man's hand holding an object; which looks like a flat piece of rock; smaller than his hand; he turns it in his hand; showing both sides. Strange. Man smiling; holding this thing ( bullet which shot him?).
ECU bottoms of wooden shoes held up to camera by 2 men;they turn them round to show top side - man's face grinning; laughing on right.; they move shoes up. DS British soldiers on deck; some waving. Another view of more men on deck. CU British Navy flag flying / fade to shot of group of men from various branches of military posing in 2 rows; a guy with cane; another with crutches. Then more men waving. Indians again. (very dark) they are met by Mayor & wife. DS happy soldiers on ship's deck again. 2 men dance together; as others make room and laugh. Ship moving away. Sailing ship; 3-mast. Sailors carry stretchers; Finally; another ECU wooden shoes & laughing men.
