  • Short Summary

Short segment - woman water skiing and women having fun in Brighton driving miniature cars.

  • Description

No title. "This lady is Mrs Corson of Channel Swimming fame and she's putting a new wave on the water" M/S of Mrs Corson water skiing behind a boat. "On the Pier, all sorts and sizes of Eve's throng the midget motor cars - (A Brighton Snap)"

Lovely shot of women and young girl driving miniature motor cars on a track on the pier. They smile as they pass the camera. C/U of woman opening the bonnet of one of the cars whilst a little girl sits in the drivers seat. The mother explains to her daughter the workings of the car's engine (!) C/U of the little girl being shown how to move the steering wheel. C/U of the little girl's foot on the accelerator. M/S of the woman and daughter sitting in the car - an early dodgem or bumper car. The car moves off. Another shot of people driving around the track. Short section - incomplete.

Was an item in Eve's Film Review issue number 592.

Note: although intertitles state that the cars are on the pier - looks more like they are on the promenade.

"Mrs Corson" is Amelia Corson, (nee Gade).
