    Various shots of a liberated concentration camp for Jews near Paris. It now houses nazi collaborators awaiting trial. Various shots as they stand on the balconies or mill about outside, some hide their faces.

    Various shots as General Dwight Eisenhower lays a wreath at Tomb of Unknown Warrior at Arc de Triomphe in Paris. M/S as he makes a speech praising the Parisians and presents the shield of the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Expeditionary Forces. General Charles de Gaulle is just seen in one shot.

    Various shots on the last remaining bridge in Lyons where the hospital is still held by nazi snipers. Allied troops in the street fire back. Civilians take cover by laying flat on the ground. Various shots as the hospital dome catches fire and the sniper fire ceases. Good shots of blazing dome.

    Tanks move through Belgium to Albert canal and engineers repair bridges. R.A.F. (Royal Air Force) Stirlings drop supplies for men of the Resistance. They float down on parachutes and are loaded onto trucks. Various shots of Bernard Montgomery standing in a car driving through Brussels, people run up to him. L/S as he stands on the balcony at the Town Hall and salutes, everybody cheers him. Various shots as allied tanks drive through Antwerp past burning buildings left by nazis. People wave and cheer as they pass.
