  • Short Summary

Queen Mary inspects Women's Reserve Ambulance Corps on parade ground.

  • Description

Her Majesty the Queen inspects the Green Cross Society (Women's Reserve Ambulance Corps) - 1918.

    London.

Queen Mary, dressed in fur-trimmed coat, with large fur muff and tall hat, walks briskly past a line of women standing beside ambulances. She is accompanied by several women, some in uniform. Two women in uniform chat; behind them we can see a small platform and several lines of chairs behind it with a few women in black sitting on them. In the background are crowds of people looking through railings (looks like parade ground at Birdcage Walk).

M/S of Queen Mary (with Queen Alexandra?) standing on the platform, watching ambulances driving past. Queen Mary, accompanied by others, then inspects lines of Green Cross women in uniform. Back at the platform, pan across the royal party and other officials. Pan across the long line of women in uniform.
