    "Lieutenant Mackenzie" is Hugh Mackenzie.

"Petty Officer Gould" is Thomas Gould.

The other Victoria Cross winner on the submarine, not seen or mentioned here, was Lieutenant Peter Roberts.

  2. PeterGSmith says

I believe the crew member on the extreme left, wearing a white cover to his hat is Leading Telegraphist, Peter Andrew Smith, who receive the DSM. He was one of only two advanced trained asdic detectors to survive the whole conflict. He dealt with communications and was the 'ears' of the submarine under water.
