• Short Summary

Gus Elen sings a song about a day out with his family sightseeing in London - dupe of PT 119.

  • Description

Titles read: "Now Pathetone presents the celebrated Coster Comedian Gus Elen - in 'The Postman's Holiday'."

    Pathe Studio, London.

Gus Elen sings of the hard work it is being a postman and how he decides to take a holiday with his family. He sings of the various disasters that occur as he takes his family all over London. In the course of the song he names many London districts finishing up by stating that they "had a nice quiet day".

The opening line would be considered offensive today - "I work just like a nigger...".

Not sure if song is called 'The Postman's Holiday' or 'A Nice Quiet Day'.

This is duplicate of item in Pathetone PT 119 - see separate record for details.
