  • Short Summary

Various shots of the wildlife of Greenland and of Eskimos fishing and capsizing their kayaks.

  • Description

No title. Landscape shots - various shots of men in small rowing boats rowing close to the icy shore. Seals or similar animals appear then disappear - they are possibly being caught by the fishermen. Walrus or similar ducks into the water - fisherman in the background. Large creature flounders in the water - it has probably been speared, it seems to have some kind of line attached. M/S of men with their boats - they tend to their fishing gear. M/S of two men all wrapped up in furs outside a wooden building.

Sped up footage of them loading a sled with provisions (the fish or animals they have caught?) They cover the boxes with fur. The men walk off into the snow pushing their sledge past little houses and dogs. M/S of huskies attached to leads. L/S of the men out fishing on their kayaks. M/S of the men canoeing through icy waters. They are hunting Walrus or Seal lions. Four Eskimos row towards the shore. Various shots of the men rowing their canoes. M/S of man walking towards small tent. L/S of large boat moving through the sea close to shore. Possibly a trawler or whaling boat. M/S of the ship - steam comes out of the funnel. High angle shot of icy coastline - camera pans. Lots of little icebergs.

Moving shot from a boat of the sea and ice. M/S of Eskimos and their kayaks. Eskimo demonstrates how he can roll his canoe - he capsizes and re-emerges several times. Crazy guy. Another Eskimo paddles his canoe over the top of his friend's boat while he is underwater. Fun and games in Greenland! The Eskimo then canoes over the back of his friend's boat whilst he is sitting upright in it. Those crazy Eskimos! C/U of the two Eskimos laughing.
