  • Short Summary

Troops gather and set off along the streets in Hounslow and are seen off at the station.

  • Description

Item title reads: " "Good Luck -- & God Speed!". 1st Royal Dragoons leave for service in Egypt. Of course, the Regiment gander - went too!"

    Hounslow, Middlesex

M/S field area at barracks with massed troops preparing and gathering kit amid vehicles. They march in formation in long lines, along the road, which looks like the country, not built up or suburban. At the station they wave their hats. Soldiers with kit bags laugh as they board a train. They have swords wrapped and strapped to their packs. They stand by the train carriages. Some have tin hats. A woman holds a toddler and a man kisses his father before he gets on the train. A line of soldiers pose, one holds their mascot, a goose.

Note: Good shots of soldiers marching off and departing by train.
