Horses parade around at the start of race in front of the tapes. AS. Starter gets onto platform. SV. Horses start to come into line, the tapes go up and they are away. Atlas is out in front closely followed by Donald, pan to back view. CU. Woman looking through binoculars. TV. Pan as the horses come past the stands first time round with Atlas making the running. Pan to back view, horses start for country. CU. Woman with binoculars. GV. Bend leading into the straight, horses appear, they sweep round and turn into straight. Zarathustra laying second at this point, he starts to make challenge. Atlas still in the lead. GV. Pan as Lester Piggott is urging Zarathustra to front, he is being hotly challenged by Cambremer, Atlas is losing ground. Over on the rails trying to make an effort is Tissot but Zarathustra is in the middle of the field now holding off Cambremer. Tissot is making a strong effort but the winner passes the post closely followed by Cambremer and Tissot on the rails. GV. Piggott rides in on Zarathustra. SV. Towards, Piggott rides in and dismounts. Zarathustra is the winner.
