I'm certainly no WWII expert, but I believe the aircraft seen here are Douglas C-47 models of the 75th Troop Carrier Squadron, (bearing CK squadron markings).

The gliders they're seen towing are Airspeed Horsa gliders of the RAF.

  2. jamied says

There are also aircraft of the 76th Troop Carrier Squadron, (bearing CW squadron markings).

(British 2nd Independent Parachute Bde Grp) during Operation Dragoon (Anvil), the Allied invasion of Southern France, 15 August 1944.

  4. Palasco says

The 64th airlanding battery RA were also carried by gliders during Operation Dragoon
