Windmill Theatre girls pose for photographer Eric Rowell on the Norfolk Broads at Horning.
M/S taken from a moving boat as photographer, Eric Rowell is towed along behind in a rowing boat; he is wearing a bobble hat and has two cameras slung round his neck. M/S from the top of the boat in front as two girls from the Windmill Theatre, Lisa Gray and Rita Hammerton, pose in bikinis for the photographer seen snapping in the background. C/Us of the girls posing and Eric taking photos as commentator tells us Eric works on the 'Come To Britain' posters.
M/S from the rowing boat of a windmill on the river bank, panning left to show the girls sitting on the end of the boat in front. Various shots of Eric with camera, the girls posing, the Norfolk Broads as we pass through, and other boats on the river. Another Windmill girl appears; blonde-haired Joan Cutler, wearing a bikini and sun hat.
Nice M/S of sailing dinghies on the water; M/S of a picturesque house on the river bank as we pass. M/S of the girls in jumpers and jeans; Lisa and Joan lie down on the back of the boat while Rita steers the launch. C/Us of Rita steering wearing an orange mohair jumper; the others reclining. Commentator talks of the history of the Broads (Norfolk, not the girls!).
M/Ss as the girls, in different jumpers, pour wine and have a picnic on the top of the launch and wave to a passing boat. They look a bit windswept!
Nice shots of the Norfolk countryside and the girls - one of whom may be related to our own Ms Hammerton!
Note: There is no print for this issue. There are small biographies on all three girls on file; it looks like they were attached to photos which are missing - probably immediately pinned up in the Pathe Offices in 1960.
