    A countryhouse has been converted into training centre where women learn how to run LNER (London North Eastern Railway) stations. Various shots of girls in classroom, their teacher is male. Various shots of girls learning how to sell tickets in mock booking office. Various shots of girls getting practice sending telegraphs. Various shots of girls relaxing: we see them eating in dining room, relaxing in cosy lounge, playing "shove hapenny", strolling and on swing in large gardens.

    Narrator explains the women are referred to as "Girl Commandoes" as they have to learn so much in such a short time.
