Comedian George Robey looks at his 'Naughty Biography' in his dressing room - 1945?
Note: this footage seems to date from 1945, not the 1910s. Looks like it was shot in the Pathe Studio in London and is running at silent speed instead of sound speed, so seems quite slow.
Shot of looking over the shoulder of music hall comedian George Robey as he sits putting on his make-up at his dressing table mirror. A porcelain figure or doll sits on the table beside a large coin or medallion showing George's face.
George picks up a large book so we can see the title: 'George Robey's N'aughty [sic] Biography'. He turns the pages - each one shows a montage of pictures of George. The first page also has playbills on it. The second page has '1914 - 1945' printed across the montage; George points at some of the pictures. Next page is 'Sport' (George playing golf, cricket, boxing and jogging). Last page is headed 'Films, Theatre, Radio'.
As he closes the book we pan across to see reflection of George in the mirror, pencilling in his trademark black eyebrows. He gets up, takes his jacket from the coat stand and puts it on, then puts on his hat and walks towards camera until the dark fabric fills the screen.
