LS Titan Two rocket in gantry on pad, pan to NASA (National Aeronautical and Space Administration) transfer van. MS For the third time in seventeen days, astronauts Command Pilot Thomas Stafford and Eugene Cernan leave the building in their space suits and climb into transfer van. LS Transfer van arriving at pad. Various shots, two astronauts arrive, Thomas Stafford shows the pad crew his large-size match in case there are further problems with take off, and they climb into their Gemini 9 capsule. The door is closed on them. LS The Titan rocket with the Gemini 9 capsule lifts off from the pad (no camera tilt with rocket). MS Cameraman filming the take off of this thirteenth manned flight in the US Space Programme.
Various shots, on board the USS Aircraft Carrier "Wasp" in the Pacific, 300 miles east of Cape Kennedy. MS Sailors on deck with binoculars and cameras awaiting splashdown. LS The capsule in the sea with a rubber collar around it, being secured. CU Welcome sign reads: "Stafford - Cernan, again Gemini 9, USS Wasp". Various shots, the capsule on deck and the two astronauts emerge and wave and shake hands with each other.
