• Short Summary

Fantastic little film showing cancan dancers entertaining pensioners in Fulham pub.

  • Description

    London.

Item starts with a shot of girl's bare belly (great 'low cut' dress). Camera tilts up to show a singer Jane Marlaw. She is on a stage singing very dramatically while pub regulars (most of them elderly) watch. A horse drawn carriage brings cabaret dancers to Gaiety Bar at Fulham Road. Piano and double bass play while waitresses dressed in costumes very similar to Bunny Girls' costume serve pints and food.

Finally, here come dancers wearing big red dresses and terrible white knickers. They jump about, rolling their skirts high in the air (the usual cancan number). Men (mostly pensioners) love it. They clap, sing-along, laugh... Unbelievable!
