Fuzzbugs are weird little fuzzy toys - here we hear the fictional and real explanation for their origins.
Brighton, West Sussex.
A fictional story introduces an item about the manufacture of strange little furry toys.
C/U of a miniature jungle set filled with strange furry toys. Extreme C/U on a furry spider landing next to a furry bird. Various shots of the 'fuzz bugs' toys in their fake tropical setting. The narrator starts to tell us a story - a twisted version of Noah's Ark! C/U of pairs of plastic animals lined up next to a wooden toy ark, a fuzz bug is lifted on to the boat by an attached string. The narrator explains that there was room for two fuzz bugs but only one made it onto the ark, C/U of the other fuzzbug caught in a net, "a fuzzbug trap" and left behind. M/S of the toy ark grounded on an Astroturf hillock, the surviving fuzzbug leaps down a pothole in the hill. C/U of the fuzzbug living a life of solitude in a psychedelic coloured cave ...
Panning shot over lines of fuzzbugs in a Brighton factory. C/U of bundles of toy glass eyes, pan to a man's hand painting the eyes. M/S of a factory girl assembling the toys, C/U of her hands stuffing fur with foam and sticking in the eyes with pins. M/S of a young man cutting out fuzzbug feet made from card, we then see a girl gluing the feet onto the toys.
Extreme C/U of themed fuzzbugs - a Scottish one, a black cannibal one ( not very politically correct!) and a fuzzbug spider.
Note: this story is very bizarre even by Colour Pic standards! It seems to be aimed at children. See also CP 581 Cuts
