• Short Summary

Latest ideas in furniture designs are seen at the British Furniture Exhibition.

  • Description

    London.

Various shots show new items of furniture being demonstrated at the British Furniture Exhibition.

Two women sit on a settee; they move the armrests to give extra space and Mr George Clark, inventor of the sofa, sits between them. A woman pulls out a footrest on an armchair and a small table concealed in the armrest. Five stools are taken out of a pouffe, with the lid of the pouffe becoming a small coffee table.

A woman takes a coat out of a walnut wardrobe with sliding doors. Extra tables are concealed in the legs of a living room table. Gloria Clarry puts down her newspaper then reclines and stretches in an easy chair with a footrest.

Note: extensive notes and correspondence on file.
