  • Short Summary

Various fashions are modelled including a "Hockley" creation and a "Maison Cle" shawl.

  • Description

"This 'Hockley' sealing-wax red frock of lace and crepe de chine, sets the seal of fashion on wide sleeves, slashed open from wrist to elbow." M/S of woman sitting on a low sofa in a domestic setting. She stands up to show off her outfit - a rather beautiful frock. She turns and poses in a rather elaborate fashion. Closer view of the dress. The model holds her hand in the air and turns.

"Mary had a little -" Persian-lamb coat. Its deep ermine border tells a pretty tale of fashion's ingenuity." Another model walks falteringly towards the camera in a rather elaborate outfit. She strikes rather "over the top" poses. "Even in the thinnest attire no woman would feel 'left in the cold' with this 'Maison Cle' shawl. It is hand - embroidered, in rainbow colours, from an old Spanish design." M/S of a woman in a domestic setting - a boudoir! She wears a fringed patterned shawl and a lace cap. There is a painted screen and a dressing table in the room - it is probably a set. She turns and holds out her arms to display her shawl. She sits down and admires herself in the dressing table mirror.

"And Eve at the wheel need fear no wind with this "Maison Lewis" motoring cap of neat leather to protect her hair." Great C/U of woman wearing coat with a fur collar and fantastic leather hat!
