    Paris, France.

    Intertitle: "WORSE THAN THE TUBES! Homeward bound Parisians during Railway Strike pack the few trains that are running inside and out."

    M/S of a train passing the camera - the carriages are so crammed that people are standing on the running board and sitting on the roof. Everyone seems in high spirits and lots of them wave at the camera.

    Intertitle: " ... But in Paris, unfortunately, the demonstrations were marred by riot and bloodshed."

    Various high angled L/Ss of a riot in a square in Paris. Rioters pick up stones and through them at Police on horseback, scuffles break out, one rioter is beaten to the ground and dragged away (by Police?).
