    A monument is set up in a cemetery commemorating French soldiers who died during World War 2 in Rome. Various shots M. Fouques Duparc, the French Ambassador to Rome, alighting from a car at the tomb of the Italian unknown warrior and being greeted by officials. Various shots of massive wreath being laid on the tomb. Duparc watches, standing to attention. C/U the wreath with sentries standing on either side of it. Various shots Duparc and other personalities walking through lanes of troops to Monto Mario. Various shots Duparc speaking as he inaugurates the cemetery, various officials and military officers (including British?) Duparc unveils the monument which is covered with a French flag. C/U the monument. Various shots women laying bunches of flowers beside the wreath on the monument. General view of the cemetery with white crosses marking the graves. Panning shot along some of the graves, camera comes to rest on a commemorative plaque. M/S priests praying at the graves.
