  • Short Summary

Jean Borotra shows off his tennis skills as France retain the Davis Cup in Paris.

  • Description

Full title reads: "Paris. France retains the Davis Cup - thanks chiefly to marvellous play of J. Borotra - 'master' tennis player still at 33 years of age!"

    Paris, France.

    Intertitle reads: "... first defeating Vines ... who 'massacred' everyone at Wimbledon ... 6.4 6.2 3.6 6.4 ..."

Jean Borotra, wearing his beret, plays tennis in front of a large crowd. Having won he leaps the net and runs to shake hands with his opponent. The crowd come to their feet and applaud.

The two players - H. Ellesworth Vines and Jean Borotra - walk off the court.

    Intertitle reads: "then ... Allison 1.6 3.6 6.4 6.2 7.5"

High angle shot of tennis match. Good closer shots of Borotra playing. He may be injured as a man has to come out and help him tie his shoe lace and he appears to have difficulty bending. It doesn't make much difference to his game as he wins this match and walks to the net to shake hands with Allison.
