'Big Three' - Foreign Ministers Conference - Washington DC, United States of America.
First to arrive for 'Big Three Conference' are Marquis of Salisbury, Lord Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations and his aides. Nice shot of three cameramen with handheld movie cameras filming pan on the steps. Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles, arriving. French Foreign Minister Georges Bidault, followed by French Ambassador, Henri Bonnet.
Interior shots as Big Three pose for photographers before conference gets underway - left to right, Bidault, Dulles and Salisbury. Separate C/Us of Dulles, Salisbury and Bidault.
L/S of Conference. L/S of exterior of State Department building. C/U of sign ' Department of State'. Silent shot of Big Three - then opening remarks by Dulles. Remarks by Bidault in English and French. Remarks by Salisbury.
Sound quality is very poor for all three speeches making it very difficult to make out what they are saying. Salisbury is the most clear of the three, talking of meeting to review their policy and reaffirm their policy. He thanks United States Government for being their hosts on this occasion and says he is looking forward to working with Dulles and Bidault for a solution to their joint programmes.
