  • Short Summary

Rowers from Cambridge University compete for the chance to face Oxford in next year's boat race.

  • Description

Full title reads: "Ely. For next year's Boat Race. Light Blues 'A' & 'B' Eights - have final race to choose the crew for 1933."

    Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Rowers sit in their boat at the side of the river. They move out in the River Ouse. The 'Cutter Inn' pub can be seen in the background.

The other team prepare themselves in their boat. The cox crouches at the end of the boat. Once the crew are ready he climbs in. The boat moves out into the river.

The two teams row against each other along a stretch of the River. Supporters run along the banks of the River to cheer them on.

As they approach the finish the crowds have grown larger. Both teams finish and bend over in their seats exhausted by the effort.

They have been racing for the right to represent Cambridge University in the next year's University boat race against Oxford.
