• Short Summary

Men in the street are interviewed as to their opinion on the prospect of Conscription.

  • Description

Note: Unsure of the location, however, most probably London.

Full titles read: "FOR NATIONAL SAFETY AND BRITISH FREEDOM - CONSCRIPTION"

Several shots of numerous soldiers of the British Army (looks like library footage). The commentator says that the government has bowed to the inevitable "youth is called to serve".

Nice M/S's of people "in the street" expressing their views on Conscription. An elderly gentleman remarks that "I think it's a fine thing I've done my bit and I'm sure sons want mine doing their bit." The publics mood in general seems very positive.
