New arrester gear for planes landing on carriers at sea is tried out at Bedford.
Titles read: "BEDFORD - FOR LANDING ON CARRIERS".
Several shots of an aircraft landing on a carrier at sea.
We then see various shots of aircraft landing on a runway at Bedford, trying out a new arrester gear. Water is sprayed onto the runway as the plane lands to act as a hydraulic brake. A man goes down some steps and into the pump room below the ground. An arrester cable is rewound after each landing. The jets are tested before a plane lands.
