From the Bridport News of 1913:

QUEEN WHO? A good deal of curiosity has been aroused as to who is the Miss Myrtle Grove, the “Dorset Queen of Beauty,” who was awarded the first prize in the recent beauty competition at Folkestone. Her real name is Miss Ivy Hounsell, the niece of Mr Cuthbert Hounsell, of 67, East Street, Bridport. We congratulate her on upholding the traditions of West Dorset for ‘comely maidens’ and carrying off the prize for beauty against all comers, including many fair competitors from the Continent, and, more than all, we congratulate her on the modesty with which she bears the crown which has thus been placed upon her brow.
