    Somewhere in Britain.

C/U panning shot of a relief map of the Far and Middle East. In the RAF Meteorological Office Forecast Room weather conditions are noted before take off. In the briefing room the Station Commander comes in and talks to the crews.

Airmen write their names in chalk on the early call board. An airman sets his alarm clock and gets into bed. A man with a tattoo on his hand fills Thermos flasks. WAAFs make sandwiches for men on the morning flight and stack boxes of 'Flight Rations' against a wall.

Brief shot of bomber engines being warmed up by ground crews on the airfield. C/U of an airman pulling on his flying boots. C/U of bacon and sausages being served onto a plate. Nice shots of crews sitting at mess tables to eat their breakfast. Then the men get up and make their way to the airfield. One man checks the letter rack for post and commentator urges "please see that your man is not disappointed when he gets to the other end".

Airmen are taken to their bombers on a special bus. They board their aircraft. Engines are revved and the planes take off. Commentator names several planes as we see them: Beaufighters, Wellingtons, a Hudson, a Blenheim, a Giant Liberator. Great shots of the planes flying out over the coast of Britain.
