    Kitzingen, a town in the German state of Bavaria. Filmed by Lieut Byars of the US Seventh Army on 23 April 1945.

    L/S firing squad, US 7th Army soldiers are gathered in the Florian-Geyer athletic ground in Kitzingen. M/S as US officers led by a field grade officer and an Army Chaplain, escort German spy, Richard Jarczyk, from the Provost Marshall's office. Jarczyk had confessed to sabotage and the killing of US soldiers, behind the lines. He is dressed in civilian clothes. An MP jeep is seen parked in front of a soccer net in background. M/S firing squad standing to attention. C/U man at post. M/S officers talking to him. C/U as man is blindfolded. M/S as he is shot and falls to the ground. M/S squad. C/U man on ground. M/S soldiers. M/S soldier using stethoscope to check there is no heartbeat. M/S as body is put into bag.

    "Location of events unknown / unclear." - a clapperboard in mid-clip tells us that the location is Kitzingen in Germany.

    The date of filming is 23 April 1945.

    The footage is filmed by Lt Byars of the U.S. 7th Army.
