• Short Summary

Film Quiz, Ingrid Bergman, Anita Ekberg arrive and David Niven departs, film reviews.

  • Description

    Film Fanfare No. 15 - Reels 3 & 4.

    London.

Reel 4 (? out of order?).

Paul Carpenter gives 'Film Quiz' answers and then we see another variation of the regular panel game 'Film Quiz', this one called 'Beat The Expert' - the expert being Peter Noble. The panel consists of actor Patrick Doone, Peggy Mount (looking very glam - like Ethel Merman!), 'Scottie' (hairdresser Alfred Scott) and Anne Burnaby (scriptwriter). They put film questions to Noble. It all looks quite staged and rehearsed. (Film slips out of synch halfway through the quiz.) Carpenter makes link to 'roving reporter' John Parsons.

    Reel 3.

John Parsons introduces item on Ingrid Bergman arriving in London to star in 'Anastasia'. Good footage of Ingrid at Victoria Station with her husband Roberto Rossellini. Parsons talks to Bergman but there is no natural sound.

Parsons then interviews American actress Carole Mathews. She gives her impressions of England, and how she has picked up English expressions.

Film star Anita Ekberg and her actor husband Anthony Steele are seen arriving at London Airport (they are just married). David Niven is seen arriving at the airport with his wife, Hjordis. Parsons signs off.

Paul Carpenter makes link to John Fitzgerald, who then gives his weekly movie review (this is duplicate of section in Reel 2 - see separate record). Muir Mathieson and orchestra play 'Die Fleidermaus' overture (dupe from Reel 1).
