• Short Summary

An orchestra of schoolgirls plays for us in Leytonstone.

  • Description

    Titles read: "FIDDLERS ALL".

    Leytonstone, London.

At the Connault (Connaught?) School we see an orchestra of schoolgirls (aged around 11) playing a medley of tunes. Most girls play the violin, others play cellos and drums; a girl standing at the front conducts the orchestra. Commentator says they recently won the School Bands Festival Challenge Shield at the Royal Albert Hall.

The first tune seems to be 'Deck the Halls'; the second sounds familiar but I can't place it - sounds Scottish?
